Eclipse

Moon-fireTonight, when the moon
goes swimming in the sea,
she will dive too deep
and her trails of flame
will no longer be
fireworks gleaming!

In the depths
she will hide her face
and the night will be
black where light
finds no place for shining!

Yet out of tonight’s black night
(when she dives too deep),
the moon will climb back
into her dark sky –
(as if woken from sleep) –
full and smiling!
